Maxi Cosi car seats are some of the world’s famous car seats, and these are known for being compatible with many stroller brands.
Some of these are the Maxi Cosi Pebble Plus and Maxi Cosi Rock. What’s the difference between the Maxi Cosi Pebble Plus and Rock?
In this article, you will just find out the answer to this question. Which of these should you go for and why?
Your answer depends on many factors, which I will be going over.
Table of Contents
About the Maxi Cosi Pebble Plus.
The Pebble Plus is an infant car seat that’s suitable from birth up to 12 or 15 months, which is roughly 13kg. It’s an I-size car seat and can be attached to a base or can also do without it.
Belonging to the Maxi Cosi 2wayfamily base. It has a so-called high-tech side impact protection which absorbs many impacts, keeping babies safe from major injuries.
It has a UV canopy to keep the sun away and is baby-safe. This can be reclined and so does the headrest and body cover.
You have a 3-point harness keeping the body and legs fastened. Which can be adjusted simultaneously with the headrest.
A newborn hugger or inlay that’s best for newborns. Max Cosi Pebble Plus is flight approved, meaning you can travel with it
Of, course it’s a travel system compatible with the right adapters. Comes in multiple colours.
About the Maxi Cosi Rock.
Very similar in design to the Pebble Plus the Maxi Cosi Rock is also suitable from birth up to 12 or 15 months which is around 13kg.
UV canopy or also called UPF50+ canopy keeps the sun away and also mild rain. Deep cushioned body fabrics to keep baby warm.
Newborn inlay and headrest. You have a 3-point harness which is adjustable and covered. All of the fabrics can be removed to be washed.
Adjustable handlebar as well to carry the car seat easier. Like all car seats, this also has side impact protection.
The Rock just like the Pebble Plus is compliant with the new EU R129 regulation. This means both offer the best rear-facing.
Comes in multiple colours such as black, light grey, dark grey, blue and red just like the Pebble Plus. It’s also a flight complaint.
What’s the Difference Between the Maxi Cosi Pebble Plus and Rock?
Pebble Plus and Rock Harness.
One thing they differ when it comes to these features is the harness’s ability to adjust alongside the headrest. It means a one-pull simultaneously adjustment.
The Pebble Plus harness can simultaneously adjust with the headrest so that it does not fall while struggling to tuck your baby in.
A problem you will face with the Maxi Cosi Rock. This means you will need to adjust both separately.
Pebble Plus and Rock Weight and Dimensions.
These have different weights. The Maxi Cosi Pebble Plus weighs about 4.5kg which is quite heavy on the spectrum of car seats.
The Maxi Cosi Rock is a bit lighter to carry because it’s 3.9kg which is still a bit heavy compared to some much lighter car seats.
These are dimensions for the Maxi Cosi Rock 67cm(D) x 44cm(W) 56cm(H) and these are the dimensions for the Pebble Plus H56 x W44 x D67cm.
As seen the dimensions are the same. Making the Rock just like the Pebble car seat series.
Pebble Plus and Rock Base Compatibility.
There are differences in the bases these are compatible with. The Maxi Cosi Rock is compatible with 2wayfamily, Familyfix 2, Familyfix 3, 3wayfix and babyfix.
For the Pebble Plus, you have all the above plus the Familyfix XP. So that’s 6 bases it’s compatible with, while the Rock is only compatible with 5 bases.
This means you have more options with the Pebble Plus. These bases are compatible with many other Maxi Cosi car seats.
So, if you change your car seat you can still use one of these depending on the car seat you buy. That’s not always the case for some other car seat brands.
This is the reason why Maxi Cosi is popular. However, you can still use these without the bases, by using the car seatbelt.

Pebble Plus and Rock Stroller Compatibility.
Both the Maxi Cosi Pebble Plus and Rock are compatible with all Maxi Cosi strollers which can be travel systems by just using adapters.
It’s installed with a click-and-go mode.
Meaning it lets you know if you have installed it correctly with a click. The adapters come with the stroller or can be bought separately.
Aside from that, the Pebble Plus is compatible with other stroller brands. These are Quinny, Bugaboo, Icandy and Micralite strollers.
After doing some time of research I could not find the pushchair the Rock is compatible with. However, some of these can be Bugaboo and GB car seats. (Call Maxi Cosi and ask to see).
(The Rock is compatible with other brands, but I just could not find it).
Pebble Plus and Rock Prices.
The Pebble Plus cost about £165 and the Maxi Cosi Rock cost about £127. This is the price on Amazon, but it can be more or less depending on where you buy these.
This is the price for the new car seats. As you can see the Rock is cheaper and can be more affordable by many.
Maxi Cosi Rock with a base costs £257 and the Pebble Plus with a base costs about £303.
Which One is Better?
This one is a bit hard to answer because there are not that many differences, just a few.
The Pebble Plus seem to be a bit better because it has the one pull harness mechanism and it’s compatible with more bases.
There are more benefits if you buy it, but that’s not for everyone. Who will go for the Maxi Cosi Rock? Well, those who want less weight.
Although it’s not much it’s still less weight to carry, which is the only thing that makes the Rock slightly better.
You obviously have the price as well. It’s cheaper than Pebble Plus. Now the question is, are the above benefits worth the price of the Maxi Cosi Pebble Plus?
The answer depends on your budget and what YOU consider to be important.
Pebble Plus and Rock Cons.
Although these have good prices compared to much more expensive car seats, these are still expensive on their own. Compared to the Nuna Pipa car seat series these are heavy as well.
Won’t be easy to carry around. The Pebble Plus and Rock are good car seats, but these lacks some features other car seats in the market have.
Hope you got your answer by me analysing the differences between the Maxi Cosi Pebble Plus and Rock. There is not that much difference, but knowing it’s important.
I would personally not mind going for either of these. Both offer the same quality and are also identical. Just like with the Pebble Pro car seat.
Which one will it be?
