Differences Between the Thule Urban Glide 2 and Mountain Buggy Terrain.
The Differences in the Urban Glide 2 and Terrain Seat Unit and Canopy.
The Thule Urban offers a seat unit that’s up to 34kg which is beyond 6 years. That means you will be able to use it for much longer. If you have a big and tall toddler the seat is perfect for that.
Although it only offers 2 reclining positions while the Terrain offers more than two. This means your toddler get more positions, but the kg is limited to only up to 25kg.
For the average toddler that’s 5 years. Terrain however has an adjustable legrest to keep your toddler feet rested and not dangling.
Thule Urban Glide 2 also only offers a forward facing seat unit, while the other one has also a rear facing seat. Both optioned are better than one.
Both canopies are big but the Urban Glide 2 offers a bigger one with sun visor which the other lack. It’s shaped different as well. (As you can see with the images).
Other than the canopies are the same.
The Differences in the Urban Glide 2 and Terrain Frame/Chassis.
Its true both handlebars are adjustable but they differ. The Thule Urban Glide 2 offers 5 adjustable heights. Going from 90.7cm up to 111.7cm.
This is a good height for short parents and good for the average human height. It’s also good for tall parents. For the Terrain buggy it’s different.
Its from 91cm up to 123cm which is much better. The buggy has 11 adjustable positions. Very good for all heights. For very tall parents as well.
This makes it more suitable for everyone. The Urban Glide 2 has a wrist loop to make things easier for the one pushing.
Mountain buggy terrain is more designed to be normal buggy with all-terrain wheels and not really jogging.
Although you can still run with it.
So, the jogging stroller is the Thule Urban Glide 2. It wheels can removed and they are much slimmer. Both of these have different folding systems as well.
They have auto-locks when folded to keep the strollers from unfolding. With the Terrain buggy the frame free stands when folded but not with the Urban Glide 2.
The Thule Urban Glide 2 has a less complicated folding style than the former. Terrain has pockets on the basket which the Urban Glide 2 does not offer.
Terrain has a higher frame which create a better bonding for families. It might be a bit difficult for short parents however. Urban Glide 2 also has foot operated brakes.
You also have the fabrics which are not the same.
Urban Glide 2 and Terrain Carrycot.
Urban Glide 2 has a normal carrycot which it shares with the Glide 2. The carrycot is suitable from birth up to 6 months and it’s simple.
It has a big canopy and big space for your sleeping baby. When it’s not used you can fold it flat to save up space. No adapters are needed.
For the Terrain carrycot it’s different. It converts into a seat unit which is the one I mentioned above. It has 3 stages which is there to helps babies with refluxes.
It can be adjusted to help them out. For the normal baby, it can be used from birth up to 6 months, around 9kg. It also comes with fabrics that are suitable for the winter.
Keeping your baby warm. With a big canopy as well.
Urban Glide 2 and Terrain Car Seat Compatibility.
With adapters both of these two can be transformed into travel systems. For the Urban Glide 2 these are the car seat it’s compatible with:
- All Nuna Pipa Series.
- Maxi Cosi Pebble, Pebble Pro, Plus.
- Maxi Cosi Cabriofix.

The Thule stroller looks to be compatiblewith more brands. Giving you the option to choose from soo many bramds and car seat models.
Some of these are one of the best as well.
Urban Glide 2 and Terrain Weight and Dimensions.
For the Urban Glide 2, the weight is 11.4kg which is quite heavy and not that easy to carry. The open dimensions are H102cm × W69cm × D104.5cm. The folded dimensions are H34cm × W69cm × D87cm.
The weight of the Mountain Buggy Terrain is 12.9kg. Open dimensions are 123.5cm x 63cm x 110cm and folded dimensions are 93cm x 63cm x 39cm.
Thule Urban Glide 2 is wider than the former and the age range confirms just that. You can also see when in open position the Terrain is higher.
The Thule has less height and lenght when folded but the width is still wider. However is still offer a more compact fold, especially if the wheels are removed or position in a way to make it easier when folded.
The Urban Glide 2 also weighs less which makes it easier to carry than the former. The Thule Urban Glide 2 wins in this scenario as well.
Urban Glide 2 and Terrain Colours and Price.
Thule offers these colours, Dark Shadow, Mars, Thule Blue and the stylish Black on Black. For the Mountain Buggy Terrain 2015 version is yellow/black, black and then a graphite colour.
Both offer 3 colours but the colours differ. When it comes to the price both are expensive. Mountain Buggy Terrain cost around £559 and the other it’s around £589.99.
Depending on the colours the price differ for the Thule stroller. The Terrain can cost more than that as well but that’s the average price.
Which One is Better?
Its hard to choose when these are some of the best in the market. However, many sites have analyse the Thule Urban Glide 2 to better and it is.
It’s suitable for much older children, has wider seat, a good handlebar, is more compatible with car seats, is lighter, folds more compact, etc.
I can go on and on. In some aspects, the Mountain Buggy stroller is better, but in general the former wins in more categories or features.
It also offers are better jogging experience than the former. Although it’s more expensive mostly it’s only £30 indifference.
For the Terrain, the extra storage, handlebar and the adjustable legrest are what stands out the most and it’s cheaper as well. If you value these features more then it can be the one.
Although it’s very heavy and that’s not a nice experience at all.
You can’t jog with these before 6 months and that’s for all jogging strollers. Both are highly expensive and these are only the single strollers.
They can’t be converted into double strollers so they are only for single babies. Both are heavy as well. Being one of the heaviest buggies out there and this is especially for the Terrain.
The big wheels and big frames make them hard to use as daily strollers and therefore are mostly used for jogging. They are also not that easy to handle.
Both have somehow complicated folding systems. The jogging strollers also only offer three colours each. Very limited for both of them.
Although the fold is more compact with the Urban Glide 2 it’s still not that compact. They will take up space at home and even soo when standing.
What is it going to be parents? Tell me all about it in the comment section. I would love to know. These are very good strollers for jogging around the city or suburban areas.
Also for hiking. With long-lasting materials and fabrics and high age range, it will be with you for years. You little one will grow with these.
