Baby Joggers pushchair is not suitable from birth but has an almost lie-flat position for your small one to use. The seat unit can be used up to 4 years which is the weight of 22kg for most babies.
It can be more or less, depending on your baby’s weight. The stroller is advertised as being lightweight, durable and easy to manoeuvre.
It’s an upgrade from the other Baby Jogger stroller and even though it’s not new it is still one of the popular strollers out there. The reason for it winning awards.
Let’s first begin by analysing the seat unit and what it has to offer. It has reclining positions for your baby’s comfort. Recline it into a position that will suit your baby or toddler.
This makes it possible for them to able to nap and also play. Makes the seat adjust to different ages. 5 point harness with straps to keep your child secured and stroller clean.
Moving on to the hood or canopy. You have a big hood and some parents consider it to be the biggest hood they have seen on any stroller.
A big and spacious canopy is good for weather protection. Whether it’s the rain, wind o sun. The canopy also offers 2 peeks a boo window.
To make things easier for you and your partner. It’s easier to view your child without always having to go in front. This to make up for only having a forward-facing option.
On the hood, you also have SPF50+ protection from the sun’s UV. Super useful during summer of course and good for your newborn.
They are more sensitive than older babies.
The stroller offer handbrakes and all-terrain tyres which makes it easy to use on any ground.
The City Mini GT2 is easy to fold and store away in many boots. Fold it using just one hand by pulling the straps in the middle of the seat.
When folded the pushchair frame auto locks which makes it compact and easy to store. It makes it easier to move around too.
The frame is lightweight and easy to steer. No bumper bar is included but the handlebar offers 6 reclining positions which are perfect for taller parents.
It’s for any parent to use depending on your situation. You have all suspension wheels and air-filled tyres to offer your baby a safe ride.
This makes the Baby Jogger stroller easier to manure on bumpy grounds. Good for city and suburban lifestyle. It also has swivel wheels which are also ideal for the city lifestyle.
Makes it easier to steer through narrow spaces. The stroller also offers rear brakes which help to keep the stroller still when not using it.
Last but not least the car seat compatibility also makes the City Mini GT2 amazing. It’s compatible with car seats from many brands such as:
Maxi Cosi, Cybex, Kiddy and from its brand. You only need to buy adapters and then you are good to go
Accessories: City Mini GT2 Carrycot and Rain Cover.
Using the carrycot the City Mini GT2 is suitable from birth up to 9 months. The cot is not for this pushchair but also can be used for the City Mini 2 pushchair.
Inner quilted layers and soft mattress gives your little bundle of joy a safe, and comfortable place to sleep. It’s big and spacious which allows a big space for your little one to move about.
Perfectly cushioned for any weather condition. The fabrics are machine washable which makes them last longer. It can be used for features children.
The carrycot also has a big hood with UV50+ protection. The carrycot is included in the purchase of this stroller making it a 2in1 travel system.
Moving on to the rain cover which is also used for other Baby Jogger strollers other than this one. The rain cover is perfect to use when out strolling with your child.
It’s not only for the stroller but also for the car seat and carrycot which makes it perfect. The cover is also ideal to use for the wind and it has ventilation holes to keep the air fresh.
The plastic is easier to see through and it’s safe for your child to breath near. The rain cover is not included in the purchase so, you view and buy it from here.
- It’s expensive for a 2in1 travel system. There are cheaper strollers out there.
- Does not have that big basket.
- Only forward-facing. For many parents, this can be an issue.
- It does not have calf rest and backrest.
- No air ventilation system.
- It’s missing the bumper bar too which is bad because the bar adds more to the safety.
City Mini GT2 vs City Mini GT.
What upgrade has Baby Jogger done from designing the City Mini GT to the City Mini GT2? They look the same when it comes to the design and all, but the features differ.
The first difference I noticed was the brakes. The Older version only offers a handbrake instead of the brakes being under. The Older version is also only suitable for up to 3 years instead of 4.
It offers all-terrain tyres but does not offer air-filled tyres and all suspension. The newer version also offers more colours and has a rear brake.
Other than that they share the same features and both a travel system convertible. Being older it’s, of course, cheaper also. The City Mini GT2 is of course better because of the extra features and you can use it longer.
It will be easier to travel to places with the newer version than the older one because of the tyres and wheels. There’s no major difference.
The City Mini GT is still a favourite among many parents. Both are not the lightest strollers out there but they do offer many things parents want and have been around for a while.
Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 vs Other Strollers.
How is the Baby Jogger stroller doing compared to other popular 3 or 4 wheeler strollers there? I will only compare it with other strollers, not the pram.
For this comparison, I chose the Babystyle Oyster Zero stroller and Mamas and Papas Armadillo pushchair. Although not always compared to each these three strollers are in the same spot in the market.
City Mini GT2 vs Babystyle Oyster Zero stroller.
One is a 3 wheeler and the other is a 4 wheeler, but they do share some similarities. These similarities are:
- Travel system convertible.
- UPF50+ protection.
- Big hoods.
- Easy to fold with one hand.
- All suspension wheels and swivel wheels.
- Medium size basket.
The Oyster Zero seat is suitable from birth up to 20kg. The canopy or hood has a pocket behind it and it can be extended. When attached the canopy sits high on the chassis.
This enables your baby to have a more clear view and bond with you. The handlebar and bumper bar are leather made and the bumper is removable.
It has a legrest plus the pram is also cheaper compared to the City Mini GT2. The pushchair is also lighter around 7kg. That makes it much lighter.
The City Mini GT2 has an adjustable handlebar unlike the former, it has air-filled tyres and a rear brake. Makes the tyres more steady.
Auto click mechanism and has 2 peek a boo window to be able to view your little one. It has a bigger hood. Both offer good features, but the City Mini GT2 is better in terms of features.
The stroller is however more expensive which makes it a hard choice. The Baby Jogger is of course better but if we include the price of and other unique features the Oyster Zero offers then both take the first spot.
Many might even prefer the Oyster Zero pram.
City Mini GT2 vs Mamas and Papas Armadillo.
This one is also a 4 wheeler and they differ in design and style but share some similarities when it comes to features. These are:
- Suitable from birth.
- Peek a boo.
- Big hood with UPF50+ protection.
- 5 point harness with chest pads.
- One-hand fold.
- Travel System ready.
- Forward-facing only.
- Swivel front wheels.
- Stroller free bumper bar.
- Reclining positions.
The Armadillo pushchair also offers a seat unit to use straight from birth. A lighter and more compact fold stroller. More space on the seat, a legrest and a cup holder is included in the purchase.
Mamas and Papas Armadillo are also way cheaper than the former. However, the City Mini GT2 offers better and more features than the latter.
Which makes it better and it’s not a hard choice. Although the Armadillo pushchair offers more colours too so it depends on what you are looking for.
Looking at it through my experience the City Mini GT2 will offer a better experience with the family.
Why is it THE Stroller?
So, why is the City Mini GT2 THE stroller? Well, if you analyse it thoroughly it’s not that special compared to many baby carriages out there.
It comes from a famous brand and has been loved by many parents for years, so people trust its quality. It has the main features, and its compatibility with accessories makes it one of the best single strollers out there
What do you think? Do you agree or disagree and why? What are your thoughts on the other strollers I compared it with? I would love to know what you think.
