Are you looking for a double stroller from Joovy? You can have it hard to decide which one to choose because they do offer a few double strollers.
Well, I am here to make up your mind. It also depends on what you want. Is it only for twins or is it both a baby and toddler? I chose to review the Joovy Scooter X2 double stroller.
The stroller seems to be a favourite among many parents and in this review, we will discover why the stroller is interesting and why it can be something for your children.
I will list the cons and pros. I will also make a minor comparison between the stroller and other baby carriages to see if it stands out. One of these is Joovys another double stroller the Caboose Ultralight Stroller.

The Scooter X2 Double Stroller.
Product: Scooter X2.
Size of the Product: 82.55 x 76.2 x 106.17 cm; 14.51 Kilograms.
The Place to Buy: Amazon, Click here.
My Rating: 8.5/10.
So, the Scooter XT is an upgraded version of the previous stroller. The baby carriage is suitable from birth onwards for your twins or children of almost the same age.
They can use it until they are around the age of 3 plus. It’s also a stroller for 2 and 3-year-olds can use. When you buy it though you buy it for your twins.
If you don’t have children, but if you already do and expecting another one then the double stroller is ideal according to manufactures.
Each seat can be reclined separately. You don’t have to recline both if you do not require it. A good reclining positions for your babies different stages.
When they want to sleep, play or just sit and enjoy the view. A big canopy offer protection from the sun and minor rain. It will also give them a bit of privacy.
Important for your newborns. The Scooter X2 double stroller is lightweight and narrow enough to fit many doorways. Many twin strollers can have this problem.
It’s easy to struggle to go to places with a double stroller, but this carriage make things easier. You also have an adjustable footrest for your toddlers.
Your twin toddlers will need this feature after a long day of running around. It’s easier for them to sleep on the stroller, and have a place to put their feet.
Moving on to the wheels. The front wheels are four and this makes it easy to push. The wheels are also steady which gives a smoother ride.
These types of wheels make it easy to move around narrow areas like the city. Many baby strollers offer large basket, but the Scooter X2 offers extra large
The shopping basket is big enough for all of the babies essentials. You will need a bigger basket because you have twins. Not all your twin’s things will fit into a changing bag, well unless you buy two.
That can add extra weight to the stroller. Aside from that, the basket will make good storage for your groceries or other bags. You won’t have to bring with you grocery bags or thinking of carrying them.
Without a car, it can be heavy. Baskets are really helpful. The stroller has an accessory such as a parent cup holder. Your afternoon teas and coffees will be needed from time to time.
An extra feature is the two zipper pockets for your personal belongings. It can be good to have them near you. It’s not always you go out with a bag or jacket, especially summer and short works.
You don’t have to hold the items. Put them in and push properly. A one-hand fold is available for this one, which is not always the case even for a single stroller.
The one I have you have to fold it using two hands. Last but not least you have a max weight of 20.6kg on each seat. Depending on your twins they can use it for 4 years.
As you know not all children grow the same. The Scooter X2 double stroller is available to buy in three colours. Red, blue and black. The blue and red are not that light so don’t worry about them. Well, unless that’s what you want.
- It’s not a travel system ready or convertible. Which means you can’t use a carrycot and car seat.
- No sun visor and peek a boo window on the canopy.
- The stroller is quite plain and the colours are not attractive. Not a head-turner.
- Only forward-facing.
- Only a side by side double stroller. Can’t be converted to anything else.
- No adjustable handlebar.
- Additional features must be bought separately.
- No child tray (some twins strollers have it). However, you can buy it separately.
- The wheels are not all-terrain and all suspension. Not mentioned.
- Although the stroller fits many doorways, it still can’t fit all of them. This is a con for all side by side twin strollers. It’s not easy to handle them as a tandem stroller.
- Can take up more space than a tandem Stroller, again a con for all side by side strollers, unless the seats are removable. Which in this case they are not.
- Although it’s light it can also be heavy to some extend.
- Not made with top quality fabrics and materials, hence the price.
- Some might still consider it to be a bit expensive considering it’s just a single stroller with no additional essential features.
Scooter XT vs Other Strollers.
For this comparison like I stated above, I will compare it to another Joovy stroller instead of the older version. There is nothing to compare it’s almost the same.
Just a few changes. I also chose the baby jogger city mini 2 double side by side stroller. It’s to see which of this two side by side strollers are better.
I have done a review on both of these and know more about them. Although this is just a quick comparison I will more comfortable with it than comparing it to other double strollers.
Scooter XT vs Caboose Ultralight Stroller.
First of all, these differ much in their design. The Caboose Ultralight is not a side by side stroller but it can be used for twins. It’s, therefore, tinier, but there are some similarities and these are:
- Compact and lightweight.
- Double seats.
- Maximum seat around 40kg (Scooter offers a bit higher).
- Parent organiser/zipped pockets.
- Easy fold.
- Offers good manure.
- Big canopy.
These are the similarities. These are what most double strollers share, but apart from that, they differ. The Caboose Ultralight Stroller is also used for toddlers with babies.
Meaning two children of different ages can use it. You can have forward and rear-facing seats, a travel system convertible, a stand for toddler, swivel wheels, a child tray, universal adapters, etc.
As you can see from above the Scooter X2 offers seats that are suitable from birth, cup holder, bigger basket, bigger hood, one hand fold, reclining positions removable bumper bar and footrest.
Both of these offer good features and accessories that are favoured by many parents. If I have to choose base on my lifestyle the Caboose Ultralight looks more promising.
Its compatibility and narrower frame can make many parents choose it. The Scooter is not a loser because many parents will still prefer it
Scooter XT vs Baby Jogger City Mini 2.
These can be considered to be more similar. Both are side by side strollers. These are the other similarities:
- Easy to fold.
- Reclining positions.
- Footrest/leg rest.
- Big basket.
- Offers good manure with the wheels.
- Compact and quick fold.
The Baby Jogger City Mini 2 offers features such as a travel system compatibility, an extended hood, a peek a boo, the basket can easily be reached on both sides, offer quick and easy fold and more reclining options.
As seen above the Scooter X2 also has certain features the city mini 2 doesn’t have. The compatibility of the other stroller is what makes it valuable.
Depending on your lifestyle the city mini can be better. It’s even more expensive and preferred by many parents. So, it can be a better option, but still, some will choose the Scooter X2.
The Scooter is only for twins and the other one is for both twins and children of different ages, so many parents will want to choose the safer side.
Even for twins, it’s best to choose the City Mini 2.
A Twin Stroller.
The stroller is indeed a twin stroller because of the features it offers. It can be better for your twins than the strollers above if you like simplicity and something cheap.
The Caboose is cheap but it can be more complicated than this one. What are your thoughts on this stroller? Do you think it will offer a nice journey to your little ones?
